After Block III Examinations, Fu Yew and me spend the whole weekend together cooking some food that I miss sooooo much! It was a wonderFULL weekend! Heeeee...
1st up is the Japanese Sushi! Still remember the sandwich-like sushi that Fu Yew made for me before? But this time, the sushi is more sushi-like. Keke! He brought back few packets of Japanese seaweed after his holiday last time and also his mom's Sushi rice recipes. After spending the whole evening preparing, at last... TADAA!!
Not bad ler? Of course, there's no salmon, cavier, unagi, tempura or any of those u can find in normal Japanese restaurant. Instead, we replace all these things with cucumber, carrots, eggs and sausages (ham will do also, but we forgot to buy that). Yum yum! Oiishi!!!
Up next is my favourite Penang Hokkien Mee (or Prawn Mee)!!! When we wanna cook this, I tell myself it must be tasty, cannot sia sui (memalukan) my mom! Haha! I really miss the times when my mom was a hawker, selling all kinds of my favourite mee... Hokkien Mee, Curry Mee, Koay Teow Soup, Loh Mee, Jawa Mee etc etc, you name it, my mom will cook it! Hee... I'm proud of my mom! ^.^ Okok, back to the topic. It's not my mom cooking, it's me, her daughter, and her daughter's boyfriend, Fu Yew, cooking! We went to fish market at Udupi early in the morning to buy all those ingredients we needed, came back straight start preparing. Called my mom for some tips, check online for recipes etc etc.. It took us around 6 hours to prepare a pot of Hokkien Mee! And at last.... TADAAAA!!!
Wonder how it tasted? It was DE-LI-CIOUS!! Although it didn't taste as good as my mom's, but it taste like Hokkien Mee! Haha! For first timer like us, we were very satisfied! Hee... The only thing that make the soup lack a bit is that we don't have chili boh, the chili we always add into the soup before eating, so the soup was a little bit not enough spicy. But I'm loving it! We're loving it! Hee... Thank you so much my dear for making all these possible! Thank you!! Love you!!!
